A solar hydroponic greenhouse is an earth friendly idea that will help grow many plants in a small area. A hydroponic garden can be set up in a greenhouse that is powered by its own solar panels.
The hydroponic set up relies on water to provide nutrients to the plant as opposed to soil. Solar water pumps can be ran by solar power and if the water needs to be heated or cooled the solar panels can provide power for that too.
Solar power is drawn from panels placed on or near the greenhouse, facing a sunny direction. This reduces the amount of power needed from a power grid and makes the green house self-sustainable. Wind energy, using home wind turbine equipment is also becoming more popular. People are becoming more aware of the environment, and are trying to do their part to help. It saves on your monthly utilities as well.
The combination of the two technologies is the beginning of the future and is allowing rooftop gardens and food production in areas that were once thought impossible. Advances will go even further in future as the use of vertical watering systems also comes in play, creating a triple threat to the conventional farming methods.
