Hydroponic Nutrients

Hydroponic nutrients are used to feed plants. Usually plants gather their nutrition from the soil, but because hydroponics do not utilize soil, a nutrient solution is necessary. The hydroponic gardener needs to add all the nutrients the plants need to the water he gives.

You can find hydroponic nutrients on the Internet or at any hydroponic supply store. Any store should have different nutrient mixes for different crops and growth cycles. If you have any questions be sure to ask a salesperson.

You should mix hydroponic nutrients in distilled water. Also, be careful where you dispose of excess nutrient solution. The excess nutrients used for hydroponics can cause environmental problems and imbalances in rivers, streams and lakes.
