Hydroponic Lights

Hydroponic LightsHydroponic lights are most commonly high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps. These lights aid in a plant's need to perform the process of photosynthesis. There are two main types used in indoor gardening.

The first type of HID hydroponic lights covers the blue end of the spectrum. These are known as Metal Halides (MH). Their lighting reflects early springtime conditions. This encourages a strong and stable growth in a plant's vegetative stage.

The second type of HID hydroponic lights are the High Pressure Sodium (HPS) styles. These are designed to mimic the sunlight of harvest time by covering the red/orange end of the spectrum. This means that these lamps are better suited to flowering or fruit bearing plants.
