Hydroponic gardening FAQs
Why are hydroponics gardens used in classrooms?
Education relies on hands-on use to teach abstract principles. Many
schools teaching biology do not have access to parcels of land so students
can watch a seed germinate. However, with a hydroponics system students
can create an indoor ecosystem and watch the principles of life in action.
How do I use natural light for my hydroponics garden?
Placement of your plants is critical to the success of their growth.
Collect plants with similar growing requirements and place them in the
same system. Herbs and vegetables benefited from being placed one to
2 feet from a sunny window. And don't forget about the house lights:
even your normal indoor lights can help the plants grow.
What are some potential problems I can run into with hydroponics?
Not every hydroponically grown plant is a success. While hydroponics
can grow plants with larger fruit than traditional soil gardens, some
plants will encounter problems. You may see wilting, nitrogen deficiency,
and pests and diseases. Most of these problems can be solved by consulting
an expert at your hydroponics store.
